School Vollieday- Heirrisson Island Clean-up

Are you a young person (aged 13 to 17), passionate about helping others and making a difference in your community? If you answered yes to these questions, then we need you!

Join the City of Perth’s Parks Unit and Volunteering WA for a day of environmental restoration along Perth’s stunning Swan River at Heirisson Island.

The day will involve clearing rubbish which will help to ensure the health and safety of the river and the local wildlife. You will also learn about the Aboriginal and environmental significance of this place and get to interact with the local kangaroos that inhabit the island!

No previous experience is required. Participants should come dressed in long pants (covering ankles), closed in shoes and sun protection. All necessary training and tools will be provided by City of Perth’s Parks Unit. Protective equipment, Morning tea, lunch and water provided by Volunteering WA.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:

Your child’s safety is our priority. By registering for this volunteering day you acknowledge that if your child is feeling unwell, you will notify the coordinator and Stay At Home.

Anyone recently arriving from interstate/international travel or living with someone with COVID symptoms must not attend, unless they have completed 2 weeks of self-isolation and are symptom free.

Volunteering WA will do their best to ensure your health and safety are our first priority on your volunteering team day by providing hand washing/sanitising facilities, sanitising all tools/equipment prior to and after use, providing necessary PPE such as gloves and ensuring all workspaces accommodate social distancing rules.
